Interior Painting Process

Interior painting is the most economical way to “remodel” any room in your home. Kelso’s Painting can help you change the look and feel of your home with our professional interior painting services.

Planning

The first step to working with Kelso’s Painting is to schedule your free “no hidden costs” estimate. Once all parties come to an agreement on cost we will then determine the project timeline and if needed we can help with color selection and making sure their interior colors flow together throughout their home.

Preparation

The key to long-lasting results is a properly prepared painting surface, which is clean, dry and solid, with no cracks or imperfections. Preparation is the most important part of the job. As part of our professional painting services, Kelso’s Painting prepares all interior surfaces by:

Washing off dirt, grease, soap and oil buildup with the appropriate cleaner
Removing loose paint and powdery substances
Patching holes and cracks with a patching compound, allow to dry and then sand smooth
Bondo and 2 part Epoxy filler application if needed
For glossy or nonporous surfaces, we’ll lightly sand to a dull finish or use an abrasive cleanser, removing sanding dust or cleanser residue
Priming all bare areas prior to applying topcoat
Removing wallpaper, if needed

Painting

Believe it or not, painting is the easiest part of the job!

Along with painting interior walls & ceilings we also do custom interior surfaces such as cabinetry, doors, trim and crown molding.

Clean up

Kelso’s Painting respects your home. During the job we clean up our work area so your family can go about their business until we return the next day. At the end of the job we leave your home neat and clean. We are also certified Lead-Safe, which means we have passed stringent requirements to handle the disposal of old paint, when needed.

Exterior Painting

Painting the outside of your home is a major job. One of the biggest differences between interior and exterior painting is, with exterior painting, there is a wider range of exterior surfaces to consider. Kelso’s Painting offers the same process of planning, preparation, painting and clean up as our interior painting services for our exterior painting jobs. Our exterior services include:

Pressurewashall areas to be painted. Pressure washing a surface before the application of a finish is highly recommended to achieve the best results
Protecting other surfaces. Tarp off all sidewalks, drivewaysand other areas that could be at risk of overspray. Cover and protect windows in the painted areas
Scraping all loose and failing paint; with removal to bear wood when and if necessary
We caulk all wood-to-wood joints and gaps
Priming bare and patched areas, when needed
We will apply the highest quality paints that ensure that your home will be protected for a long time
Clean Up Daily
We can paint or stain your home along with the cleaning and staining of your decking

We also offer Elastomeric painting for the stucco surfaces that may need more protection from the elements than just a normal
